Pollution-Free Prosperity
To prevent attempts to weaken, delay, or rollback state environmental laws and programs that are critical for clean air, clean water and healthy communities.
Uphold Washington Values – Maintain a Healthy Environment
- A clean and healthy environment is a foundation of Washington’s prosperity
- Certain interests are seeking to roll back or weaken some of our most important environmental protections
- Protect our future—stand with Washington’s way of life.
Certain interests are seeking to roll back or weaken some of our most important protections.
Powerful interests are using the recession as an opportunity to attack environmental protections that have been in place for over 60 years. If successful, these rollbacks would leave us and our children breathing dirty air, drinking polluted water and driving through sprawl. Degrading our environment will not create jobs and will not create the prosperous future that we want. Weakening these protections puts our health and economic future at risk.
A clean and healthy environment is a foundation of Washington’s community and prosperity.
Despite recent challenging times, Washington state remains a great place to live and work. Our healthy environment has attracted and retained industry-leading businesses like Starbucks, Microsoft, and Costco, and the best and the brightest workforce. Resource-based industries like fishing, timber and tourism have helped our economy grow. We are blessed with clean and attractive communities where people want to live and raise their families. All these factors will power our recovery.
Protect our future—stand with Washington’s way of life.
Washingtonians know our environment is important to our way of life. From Republican Governor Dan Evans, who created the Department of Ecology in 1970 to the bipartisan legislature which banned the toxic chemical BPA in children’s products in 2009, Washington has been a national leader in keeping our communities healthy and our environment clean. This way of life is being challenged and we must all stand together to defend our future.
